However, ignoring seo, is a fast track to no traffic. Buying links still works, and it wasn't their algo that cought the paid links, it was people turning other people in for buying/selling links.

How to buy links without getting caught:

1. Don't go through a broker.

2. Find a high PR/low traffic site in your niche.

3. Get webmasters phone number. Email won't work nearly as well.

4. Call and offer cash for a link, tell him your anchor text, paypal him the money.\

You can get a one way choice anchor text link from a pr5/pr6 site for as little as $30.

This would cost hundreds through a broker, plus you would more than likely get turned in by some player hater.

There's a right and wrong way to do things. WRAL.com only has half of the formula, which although it is enough to be successful, it' not enough to stay there. In their defense, they make a KILLING links and could care less about pagerank since 90 percent of their traffic comes from low hanging fruit from the search engines of which pagerank doesn't matter. PR1 is enough to keep their traffic where it was at PR6. Syndication is how they get traffic, not high traffic search results is my point.
